Abuja, April 13, 2025 — The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted on Thursday, April 10.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, revealed that candidates who took part in the optional mock exam can now check their results by sending “MOCKRESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number they registered with.
Dr. Benjamin explained that the mock UTME was organized to test new innovations introduced by the Board and to offer candidates hands-on experience with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format ahead of the main examination.
“A total of 200,115 candidates initially indicated interest in the mock exam. However, two later withdrew, leaving 200,113 registered participants. Of these, 73,844 candidates were absent, and 88 others failed the biometric verification process,” he said.
According to the statement, 126,181 candidates successfully sat for the mock examination, and results for 115,735 of them have now been released. However, results for 10,446 candidates are still being processed and will be released in due course.
Dr. Benjamin acknowledged that some candidates experienced delays during the exam and apologized for any inconvenience caused. He noted that the hitches were expected due to the introduction of new features aimed at improving the conduct of the forthcoming main UTME.
“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of candidates and their parents. The mock UTME is a critical tool in identifying and resolving potential issues before the main examination,” he added.
He reiterated that the purpose of the mock UTME is to fine-tune the Board’s systems and ensure a seamless experience during the actual exam, scheduled to hold later in the year.
“Over the years, the mock examination has achieved its objectives, including exposing candidates to the CBT format and resolving operational lapses,” Dr. Benjamin said.
He urged all candidates preparing for the main UTME to continue with their preparations and embrace the innovations being introduced to improve transparency and efficiency in the examination process.
