Benin, April 8, 2025 (NAN) Newly appointed Commissioner of Police in charge of Edo state Mr. Monday Agbonika, on Tuesday assumed duty as the 50th CP of the state.
He replaces of CP Betty Otimenyin who has been redeployed to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Spokesman for the Police in Edo state Mr. Moses Yamu, a Chief Superintendent of Police disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in the state.
Yamu said that the new commissioner of police in charge of the state had called for the support of residents and stakeholders across the state
According to him, Agbonika has appealed for cooperation from the government and residents of the state to ensure peace, stability, and improved community engagement.
Yamu said that Agbonika brings with him 33 years of wide-ranging experience in policing cutting across operations, investigations, public relations, administration, and international peacekeeping.
“CP Agbonika is a seasoned officer whose track record in promoting police-community partnership is well documented,” he said.
