The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd), has urged newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, to bring his extensive expertise to bear in the governance of the state.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held on Wednesday night at the Executive Chambers of the Government House, Ibas described Prof. Worika’s appointment as a strategic decision aimed at restoring law, order, and public trust in Rivers State.

“This appointment is not just an administrative decision but a statement of intent,” Ibas said. “Prof. Worika’s expertise in law, policy, and international governance aligns perfectly with our mission to stabilize the polity and rebuild democratic institutions.”

He further emphasized that the new SSG’s role would be pivotal in driving policies that reflect the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective governance.

“You have no time to settle down. Roll up your sleeves and get to work immediately,” Ibas charged. “Our civil servants are critical stakeholders, and we must work with them to ensure the smooth running of the administration.”

The Sole Administrator reiterated his call for cooperation from civil servants and permanent secretaries, urging them to support the administration’s efforts in restoring stability to the state.
